Introduction
Interpretation of General Technical Requirements for Donated Textiles
| Dimensions | Class I donated textiles | Class II donated textiles |
|---|---|---|
| Product Classification | Unused textile products, including non-bulk donations and corporate bulk donations | Used, can be reused after professional washing and disinfection |
| Technical Requirements | Comply with GB18401, GB 31701 and GB18383-2007 | Including safety requirements (no odor, no sharp objects), appearance requirements (no obvious defects) and hygiene indicators (total bacterial colony count ≤200) CFU/cm², etc.)... |
| Disinfection | Non-bulk donations must meet additional hygiene requirements | Must undergo professional washing and disinfection processes, including chemical or physical methods |
Background of Standard Formulation and Analysis of Technological Evolution
With the popularity of donation activities, textiles, as common donated materials, have safety hazards in use and handling. The formulation of GB/T 38418-2019 fills the gap in this field, ensures the safety and hygiene of textiles for donation, and reflects the industry's demand for social responsibility and technological progress.
Interpretation of Technical Requirements
Microbiological Indicators
The table stipulates that pathogenic pyogenic bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus) shall not be detected, and the total bacterial colony count shall not exceed 200 CFU/cm². These indicators are tested according to GB/T18204.4 to ensure that the textiles are harmless.
Appearance quality
Class II textiles should not have obvious defects such as yellowing and mildew. The inspection is carried out under lighting with an illumination of not less than 600 lx, and the product appearance standards are strictly controlled.
Analysis of Disinfection Process
Examples of Chemical Washing and Disinfection Process
| Procedure | Water Level | Temperature | Time (minutes) | Adding Materials |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prewash 1 | Low | Normal Temperature | 10 | Special Cleaner |
| Prewash 2 | Low | Normal Temperature | 30 | Special Disinfectant |
Implementation Suggestions
1. Use fully automatic industrial washing and drying machine and ozone generator equipment to ensure the treatment effect.
2. Equip professional personnel, conduct pre-job training, and strictly abide by the disinfection process.
3. Establish a quality control system, regularly sample products to ensure compliance with standards.
