Introduction
Interpretation of the core content of the standard
This standard is equivalent to the ISO11850:2011 international standard, applicable to mobile forestry machinery such as loggers and forwarders, and specifies 52 serious hazard protection measures that need to be considered in the design phase (Appendix A).
Key safety requirements
| Item | Technical requirements | Test methods |
|---|---|---|
| Protective structure | FOPS needs to withstand 11600J impact energy (4.3.2.1) | ISO8083 test |
| Braking system | Wheeled machinery complies with ISO11169, and tracked machinery meets 25° climbing force (4.8) | ISO3450/ISO10265 |
| Electromagnetic compatibility | Radiated interference limit complies with ISO14982 (4.13) | 10m darkroom test |
Technology Evolution Analysis
Main improvements compared with the 2003 version:
- Added functional safety requirements for electronic control systems (4.5.5)
- Strengthened the 150mm minimum clearance requirement for articulated steering machinery (Figure 1)
- Cleared the F7 air filter standard (4.3.2.6)
Implementation Recommendations
- Manufacturers should establish risk assessment documents covering all hazard scenarios listed in Appendix A
- The operating manual must include the measured data of vibration and noise (5.1x-5.1dd)
- It is recommended to check the chain throw protection system every 200 working hours (4.3.2.3)
