Key technical requirements

Instrument configuration:It needs to be equipped with static headspace sampler, gas chromatograph (with FID detector or MS detector), headspace bottle volume 20mL, sample volume 0.02g±0.002g.

Method validation:The spike recovery rate needs to be controlled between 80.4%-118.4%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) ≤20%.


Implementation recommendations

  1. Pay attention to sealing during sample pretreatment to prevent VOCs from volatilizing
  2. It is recommended to use the internal standard method (toluene-d8) for quantitative analysis
  3. For co-eluting components such as o-/p-xylene, it is necessary to distinguish them by mass spectrometry characteristic ions

Background of standard evolution

This standard replaces the original industry method. The main improvements include: ①Adding new VOCs detection indicators such as isophorone; ②Optimizing the heating program (initial 40℃ for 2min, final 230℃); ③Clarifying the mass spectrometry parameters of the SIM scanning mode.
