Standard Overview and Technical Background

GB/T 39415.2-2020 is a modified and adopted standard of ISO 8351-2:1994, which puts forward systematic specification requirements for the characteristic performance of thermoplastic flexible film bags. The standard was issued on November 19, 2020 and officially implemented on January 1, 2021. It is managed by the National Technical Committee for Packaging Standardization (SAC/TC49).

1. Bag type classification system

The standard divides thermoplastic soft film bags into two types: open bags and valve bags:

  • All dimensions are in millimeters (mm)

3. Material technical requirements

The standard puts forward detailed requirements for film materials:

Actual case: PE-LD (low-density polyethylene) film should indicate thickness (μm), melt flow index (g/10min) and special treatment requirements such as anti-static. The aluminum coating of the composite material needs to specify the coating direction.
