Communication protocol implementation case

In the upgrade and renovation of a hydropower station, the intelligent speed regulator adopts the MMS+GOOSE+SV three-network separation architecture:

  • MMS protocol transmits slow variables such as guide vane opening (cycle ≥ 100ms)
  • GOOSE protocol transmits power-on command and other control instructions (delay <10ms)
  • SV protocol transmits machine-side voltage sampling value (sampling rate 4kHz)

Technology evolution analysis

Compared with traditional hydropower plants, this standard highlights three major innovations:

  1. Networked sampling: allows SV sampling values to be obtained through merging units
  2. Functional decoupling: concentrates basic functions such as DI/DO on intelligent terminals
