GB/T39764-2021 stipulates the use of a detection system that uses a VOCs rapid analyzer in conjunction with a on-site rapid collection equipment to achieve on-site rapid determination of VOCs on the surface of soft furniture through hot air accelerated release (40±2℃) and nitrogen purge technology.

Equipment selection requirements
The detection system must include a collection device that complies with GB/T39763, of which the mixed filter tube should be loaded with activated carbon and Tenax-TA adsorbent at the same time, and the blank value of a single VOCs is ≤2ng.
Background control technology
Two background purification schemes are provided: internal circulation mode (600mL/min circulation for 30min) or nitrogen purge (1L/min purge for 18min) to ensure that the concentration of environmental interfering VOCs is lower than the detection limit.
Industry application suggestions
Taking mattress manufacturers as an example, attention should be paid when implementing this standard:
- The detection area should avoid uneven areas such as seams/fasteners
- The total sampling volume should not exceed 80% of the cover volume
- Formaldehyde detection should be completed within 30 seconds after cyclic enrichment
Typical detection cases show that the use of 40℃ heating enrichment can increase VOCs release by 2-3 times, significantly shortening the detection cycle.
