1. Background of Standard Formulation and Analysis of Technological Evolution
The GB/T 398 series of standards has undergone several revisions since its first release in 1978. The 2018 version has made important adjustments to the old version, mainly in the following aspects:
- Some outdated technical indicators, such as the number of bobbin samples and the number of tests, have been cancelled.
- The assessment requirements for kilometer-long cotton neps have been added to strengthen the uniformity of product quality.
- The twist variation coefficient has been introduced as a new assessment indicator for ply yarn.
- The numerical rounding rules for calculated values have been adjusted.
