Introduction

Standard Background and Significance

This standard responds to the national marine power strategy and is jointly formulated by the Tianjin Seawater Desalination Institute of the Ministry of Natural Resources and other institutions. It fills the gap in water quality specifications for large domestic seawater in municipal applications such as toilet flushing. Compared with HY/T167-2013, three key indicators such as anionic detergents and dissolved oxygen have been added.

Technical innovation

The practice in a demonstration area in Qingdao shows that when using the five-day culture method to detect BOD5, special attention should be paid to completing pretreatment within 6 hours after sampling to avoid data deviation exceeding 15%.


Implementation suggestions

  1. The pipeline system should be marked with deep sea blue (B13) to form a visual isolation from the drinking water network
  2. It is recommended to establish a biological monitoring and early warning mechanism in combination with GB17378.7
  3. The frequency of turbidity and suspended solids testing should be increased to 3 times a week during the rainy season
