Structural classification and labeling system
The standard defines 6 types of structures: flat structure (a), corrugated structure (b), bump structure (c), needle structure (d), grid structure (e), cup structure (f). Labeling example AOa96 means: flat structure heat dissipation element with 96% alumina content.
Key performance test methods
- Thermal conductivity test: measured by the flash method according to GB/T22588
- Volume resistivity: tested at room temperature (RT) according to GB/T5594.5
- Appearance defect judgment: cracks are not allowed in area A, and pits ≤0.5mm are allowed in area B
Key points of quality control
The production case of 96% alumina heat sink of a certain enterprise shows that by strictly controlling the sintering temperature curve, the thermal conductivity can be increased from the standard requirement of 18W/(m·K) to 21W/(m·K), while maintaining the bending strength ≥300MPa.
Implementation Suggestions
- When purchasing raw materials, suppliers should be required to provide third-party test reports on the content of aluminum oxide.
- For high-power LED applications, needle-shaped/grid-shaped structures with 99% aluminum oxide are preferred.
- Regularly calibrate the work surface roughness with a GB/T6062 contact profilometer
