Introduction

1. Standard Overview

The National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 42854-2023 "General Technical Specifications for Flight Simulators for Customer Training of Civil Aircraft" aims to provide unified technical requirements for the development, production, use and maintenance of flight simulators. The standard covers the classification, composition, simulation content and verification methods of flight simulators to ensure the safety and effectiveness of flight simulators in civil aircraft customer training.

2. Background of Standard Formulation

With the development of the aviation industry, flight simulators play an increasingly important role in the training of pilots and crew members. In order to ensure the performance and simulation of flight simulators and ensure that they can meet various training needs, national standards came into being. The standard was proposed by the National Technical Committee for Aircraft Standardization and was finally released after multiple rounds of expert review and test verification.

3. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard Content GB/T 42854—2023 CCAR-60-R1 AC-60-FS-2019-006
Scope Technical requirements for flight simulators for customer training of civil aircraft Management and operation rules for flight simulation training equipment Qualification performance standards for aircraft flight simulators
Core Content Classification, composition, simulation content, technical requirements, verification methods Equipment classification and management specifications Qualification performance standards and test guidelines

4. Technical Requirements Interpretation

4.1 Classification of Flight Simulators

According to Article 60.71 of CCAR-60-R1, flight simulators are divided into four levels: A, B, C, and D. From A to D, the degree of simulation gradually increases, and the functions and performance are closer to real aircraft.

4.2 Composition of Flight Simulators

Flight simulators are composed of hardware such as simulated cockpits, simulated computers and networks, instructor desks, motion systems, visual systems, sound systems, power supply systems, air conditioning systems, and fire protection systems.

4.3 Simulation content of flight simulators

  • Aircraft cockpit simulation
  • Aircraft performance and flight quality simulation
  • Aircraft system simulation
  • Aircraft environment simulation
  • Motion system simulation
  • Visual system simulation
  • Sound system simulation

5. Implementation suggestions

In order to ensure that the development and application of flight simulators meet the requirements of GB/T 42854-2023, it is recommended that:

  1. System planning and hardware selection should be strictly carried out in accordance with the standards during the design stage.
  2. Standardized processes should be followed during the production process to ensure the quality and technical indicators of each component.
  3. Comprehensive evaluation should be carried out using expert review, OTM testing, ATM testing and other methods during the test and verification stage.
  4. Regularly check the equipment status during use and maintenance, and update software and hardware in a timely manner to maintain optimal performance.
