GB/T 42997-2023 "Labeling of Volatile Organic Compound Emissions in Furniture" is jointly issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration, aiming to standardize the labeling requirements for VOC emissions in furniture products, protect consumer health, and promote the development of the environmental protection industry.


2. Interpretation of the core content of the standard

2.1 Labeling objects and scope of application

This standard applies to all wooden furniture and soft furniture, requiring companies to label VOC emission information on their products. Specifically including:

  • Wooden furniture: Products that meet the requirements of GB/T42996.1-2023.
  • Soft furniture: Products that meet the requirements of GB/T42996.2-2023.

2.2 Logo pattern and style

The standard stipulates a unified VOC emission logo pattern, with the overall color of green, the core part of which is the word "qualified", and bilingual labels in Chinese and English. The pattern specifications can be adjusted in proportion to the product size and must be clearly visible.
