With the continuous improvement of the mechanization of construction, the safety of drilling and foundation construction equipment has become a focus of industry attention. The GB/T 43746 series of standards "Safety Requirements for Drilling and Foundation Construction Equipment" is a safety specification for different types of drilling rigs, of which Part 2 is specifically for mobile drilling rigs for construction (torque less than \(35 \mathrm{kN} \cdot \mathrm{m}\)). Based on the general requirements of GB/T 43746.1, this standard adds specific clauses applicable to mobile drilling rigs to ensure the safety and reliability of the equipment in complex and changing construction site environments.

Explanation of professional terms and practical application cases

Protective device (FOPS): a structure used to prevent falling objects from causing harm to people on the platform. For example, in rock drilling operations, FOPS of level II that meets the acceptance criteria specified in GB/T 17771 is selected to ensure safety in high-risk areas.

Additional trigger device: Sensors installed on both sides of the drill pipe are used to detect accidental contact and immediately stop the rotating power head. Case: When a single-direction tilting drill rig is used on a construction site, at least one additional trigger device is installed on each side to cover the maximum drill pipe diameter to effectively prevent entanglement hazards.

Special protection mode: When the drill rig is at a specific initial speed, the additional device is released or triggered by the hold-and-run control to ensure that the rotating part stops in less than one turn. For example, when using an advance reinforcement drill rig in a narrow tunnel, this mode is enabled to deal with emergencies.


Implementation recommendations

Design phase: In the early stage of equipment development, the structural design and safety assessment are strictly carried out in accordance with the standard requirements to ensure that the stability, protective devices and braking systems meet the regulations. It is recommended to use methods such as finite element analysis to verify the structural strength.

Manufacturing stage: During the manufacturing process, the installation position of the protective device and the effectiveness of the additional trigger device should be checked to ensure that all key components meet the test requirements (such as the brake test in Appendix A and the noise test in Appendix B). It is recommended to introduce automated testing equipment to improve the level of quality control.

Use and maintenance stage: Operators should receive professional training and be familiar with the safety functions and emergency operation procedures of the drilling rig. Regularly check the status of the protective device, brake system and trigger device to ensure that they are always in good working condition. It is recommended to establish a complete equipment maintenance record system for traceability and management.
