With the wide application of optical functional films in new energy, building energy conservation and other fields, their weather resistance has become an important indicator of product quality. As an efficient testing method, the solvent-induced method combines the principle of penetration and diffusion with organic solvent stimulation to accurately evaluate the changes in coating surface performance.

Instrument and reagent requirements
Glass bottle: It must meet the requirements of GB/T 44551 standard, with a volume of (150±5) mm and an inner diameter of (80±1) mm.
Organic solvent: Including analytical reagents such as butanone, ethyl acetate, and isopropanol.
Test step analysis
- State adjustment: According to GB/T 2918-2018 standard, adjust the sample under 23/50 environment for at least 4 hours.
- Performance test: Including transmittance, haze, clarity, gloss and other indicators, completed using professional instruments.
- Solvent induction test: Place the sample horizontally at the mouth of the glass bottle with the coating facing down, start timing and record the changes.
Implementation recommendations
1. The laboratory needs to be equipped with instruments and equipment specified in the standard and calibrated regularly.
2. Sample preparation should strictly follow the size and appearance requirements to avoid batch differences.
3. During the test, pay attention to recording environmental conditions and solvent types to ensure data traceability.
4. It is recommended that the appearance change assessment be completed by the same observer to reduce subjective errors.
