Introduction

Background of IPv6 address standardization evolution

With the comprehensive evolution of Internet protocol from IPv4 to IPv6, my country issued the GB/T 45282-2025 standard in 2025, which systematically standardized the allocation and coding system of IPv6 addresses for the first time. The standard was jointly formulated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the three major operators, Huawei, ZTE and other companies, marking that my country's large-scale deployment of IPv6 has entered a new stage of standardization.

  1. Semantic encoding: The address is required to contain geographic/business type information. For example, the Beijing education network can use the BJ-EDU prefix
  2. Route aggregation: The prefix length of routes across autonomous domains is ≤/32, and that between regions is ≤/48
