Scope

This document specifies the safety requirements for fresh air purifiers for household and similar purposes. This document covers the safety of fresh air purifiers for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V for single-phase appliances and 480V for other appliances. Note 101: Examples of appliances within the scope of this document include:
　——unidirectional flow fresh air purifiers with only air supply and no exhaust function;
　——bidirectional flow fresh air purifiers with both air supply and exhaust functions;
　——fresh air purifiers with heat exchange functions;
　——fresh air purifiers with auxiliary heating functions;
　——fresh air purifiers with other functions. Other parts of GB/T 4706 may apply to other functions (e.g., the air conditioning part is subject to GB/T 4706.32). Fresh air purifiers that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a hazard to the public, such as those intended for use by laypeople in shops, light industry, and farms, are also within the scope of this document. Note 102: This document does not apply to: duct fans (GB/T4706.27); humidifiers with heating, ventilation or air conditioning systems (without fresh air function) (GB/T4706.105); heat pumps, air conditioners and dehumidifiers (GB/T4706.32);
　——fresh air purifiers designed for industrial use;
　——fresh air purifiers intended for use in special environments where corrosive or explosive gases (such as dust, steam and methane) are frequently generated.
