Scope

This standard specifies the definition, symbols, principles, test equipment, test specimens, test procedures, calculations and test reports of test methods for tensile strain hardening exponent (n value) of metal sheets and strips. This standard applies to the determination of the tensile strain hardening exponent (n value) of metal sheets and strips with a thickness of 0.1-3mm. This standard is only applicable to the part where the stress-strain curve is monotonously continuous within the range of uniform plastic deformation.
