Introduction
Core Technical Standards for Steel Cofferdam Projects
According to the requirements of Document No. 189 of Jianbiao (2014), this standard is applicable to steel cofferdam projects with a water depth of less than 15m and a safety level of 1-3. The main contents include:

Key technical requirements
Safety level division:According to the cofferdam depth, the importance of the main project and other indicators, it is divided into three levels, among which the first-level cofferdam requires an anti-overturning safety factor ≥1.35.
Anti-corrosion design:The underwater part should use Q355 or higher steel, the bottom concrete strength should be ≥C25, and a 50μm anti-corrosion coating should be added to the splash zone.
Key indicators for stability verification
Six types of stability verification must be carried out:
- Overall sliding (arc method)
- Anti-uplift (foundation bearing capacity method)
- Anti-soil flow/piping (hydraulic gradient method)
- Anti-overturning (moment balance method)
- Anti-floating (Archimedes principle)
- Erosion stability (flow velocity verification)
Key points for construction quality control
Steel sheet pile construction:
- Error in closing width ≤3cm
- Vertical deviation ≤1% of pile length
- Lock-mouth water-stopping uses butter + sawdust composite caulking
Monitoring requirements:
- Displacement warning value: first-level cofferdam ≤ 0.3%H (H is the excavation depth)
- Spacing between support axial force monitoring points ≤ 20m
- Monitoring frequency during flood season ≥ 2 times/day
