《GB/T 5898-2008手持式非电类动力工具 噪声测量方法 工程法（2级）》由TC173（全国凿岩机械与气动工具标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国机械工业联合会。
本标准规定了手持式非电类动力工具噪声辐射值的测量、确定和标示方法。本标准代替GB/T 5898-2004《凿岩机械与气动工具 噪声测量方法 工程法》。
本标准与GB/T 5898-2004相比，主要变化如下：
――为了与国际标准名称统一，将名称改为“手持式非电类动力工具 噪声测量方法 工程法（2级）”――增加了“引言”部分；
――本标准的适用范围有所扩大；
――标准结构和技术内容（包括附录内容）发生了很大的变化。

Scope

This standard specifies the measurement, determination and labeling methods for the noise radiation value of hand-held non-electric power tools, and specifies the items that can be measured under the following loading and operating conditions: a) Noise radiation under specified loading conditions, using the sound power level Indicates; b) Radiated sound pressure level at the working position under specified loading conditions. This standard applies to typical hand-held non-electric power tools, including rotary tools, track and non-track grinders, reciprocating and impact tools with and without rotary, and various assembly tools. This standard does not apply to ammunition driven tools, clamp driven tools (such as automatic nailers, staplers, etc.) Other power tools with mandatory limits on noise radiation, such as equipment used in the open air.
