Fire protection vocabulary—Part 5: Fire products
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 5907 defines the general terms and definitions related to fire products.
This part is applicable to fire management, fire standardization, fire engineering, fire science research, teaching, consulting, publication and other related work fields.
2 Terms and definitions
2.1 Fire alarm equipment
2.1.1 Fire alarm trigger part

fire alarm trigger part
a part that transmits fire alarm signal to the fire alarm control unit by detecting the change in physical or chemical phenomena related to fire in the surrounding environment

fire detector
a component of automatic fire alarm system, that continuously or intermittently monitors at least one physical and/or chemical phenomenon related to fire with at least one sensor and transmits at least one fire detection signal to the control unit

smoke detector
a fire detector (2.1.1.2) for detecting atmospheric suspended solid or liquid particles produced by combustion and/or pyrolysis

heat detector
a fire detector (2.1.1.2) that responds to temperature and/or temperature change
2.1.1.5
point-type fire detector
a fire detector (2.1.1.2) that consists of one or more small sensors and is used for detecting fire parameters at the same location

point-type ionization smoke detector
point-type fire detector (2.1.1.5) for detecting fire based on ionization principle
2.1.1.7
point-type photoelectric smoke detector
point-type fire detector (2.1.1.5) that detects fire based on the principle of scattered light and transmitted light

a point-type fire detector (2.1.1.5) that responds to temperature and/or temperature change

line-type fire detector
a fire detector (2.1.1.2) that continuously detects fire parameters around a certain route

line-type heat detector
a line-type fire detector (2.1.1.9) that responds to temperature and/or temperature changes around a certain route

line-type smoke detector using an optical light beam
a line-type smoke detector that detects fire based on the principle that light beams are absorbed and weakened by smoke particles

image type fire detector
a fire detector (2.1.1.2) that uses video equipment such as cameras and infrared thermal imaging devices or their combination to obtain video information of monitoring phenomena and detects fire

combustible gas detector
a device that consists of gas sensor, circuit and shell, and is used for detecting combustible gas and providing combustible gas detection signals to a combustible gas alarm control unit (2.1.2.2)

flame detector
a fire detector (2.1.1.2) that responds to flame light radiation

ultraviolet flame detector
a flame detector (2.1.1.15) that responds to ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength less than 300 nm in flame

infrared flame detector
a flame detector (2.1.1.15) that responds to infrared radiation with a wavelength greater than 850 nm in flame

electrical fire monitoring detector
a detector for detecting change in electrical fire danger parameters such as residual current and temperature in the protected line

a device that sends out a fire alarm signal by means of manual startup point

2.1.2 Fire alarm control unit

an equipment that can receive and send out fire alarm signal and fault signal, and complete the corresponding display and control function, as the control center of automatic fire alarm system

combustible gas alarm control unit
the control center of combustible gas detection and alarm system, which can supply power for combustible gas detector, display combustible gas concentration, receive and send out combustible gas alarm signal and fault signals, and complete corresponding display and control function

electrical fire monitoring system
a device that can receive alarm signal from electrical fire monitoring detector, send out sound and light alarm signal and control signal, indicate alarm position, and record and save alarm information
2.1.3 Fire alarm signaling device

fire alarm signaling device
a device that is set separately from the fire alarm control unit and can send out sound and light fire alarm signals in case of fire (also known as fire sound and/or light alarm)

fire display panel
a part of the fire alarm indication equipment, which can receive the signal sent by the fire alarm controller, display the fire alarm location or area, and send out sound and light fire signal
2.1.4 Automatic control equipment for fire protection

a control equipment that receives fire alarm signal from fire alarm control unit or other fire trigger part, and sends out control signal according to the set control logic to control various fire fighting equipment to realize corresponding functions
