1 Scope

This standard specifies the classification and labeling, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, package and storage of marine bronze male thread stop valves (hereafter referred to as stop valves).
This standard is applicable to the design, manufacturing and acceptance of stop valve for marine pipeline system.

Stop valves are classified into the following two types:
a) Type A - through-type stop valve;
b) Type B - perpendicular-type stop valve.
