Introduction
GB/T 6150.15—2023 Standard Overview
GB/T 6150.15—2023 "Chemical Analysis Methods for Tungsten Concentrates Part 15: Determination of Bismuth Content by Hydride Generation Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry and Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry" is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which is used to regulate the determination of bismuth content in tungsten concentrates. This standard replaces the previous GB/T6150.15—2008 version, introduces more advanced detection technology, and optimizes the measurement range and accuracy.
Standard Development Background
Tungsten concentrate, as an important strategic resource, is widely used in many industrial fields. The GB/T6150 series of standards aims to provide a scientific and unified method for the chemical composition analysis of tungsten concentrates. With the advancement of industry technology and changes in market demand, the determination methods in the original standards need to keep pace with the times.
Main Technical Changes
| Project | 2008 Edition | 2023 Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Measurement Range | 0.050%~0.50% | 0.0010%~0.30% |
| Detection Method | Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry | Hydride Generation Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry and Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry |
| Applicability | Medium to High Content Determination | Low to Trace Detection |
Comparison of Two Determination Methods
Hydride Generation Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry (Method 1):
- Principle: Potassium borohydride is used to reduce bismuth to generate hydride, and the fluorescence intensity is measured using an atomic fluorescence spectrometer.
- Advantages: Atomic fluorescence spectrometer has high sensitivity and a low detection limit (up to 0.1 ng/mL).
Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (Method 2):
- Principle: The absorbance of bismuth is measured in an air-acetylene flame, and the content is calculated using the standard curve method.
- Advantages: Atomic absorption spectrometer is easy to operate and suitable for a wide concentration range.
Implementation Suggestions
When applying this standard, enterprises should choose the appropriate method according to actual needs. For trace detection, hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry is recommended; for medium and high content detection, flame atomic absorption spectrometry is more efficient. At the same time, it is recommended to calibrate the instrument regularly to ensure the accuracy of the measurement.
