1 Scope

This part of GB/T 6172 specifies the type dimensions, requirements and designation of prevailing torque type hexagon thin nuts (with non-metallic insert).

This part is applicable to prevailing torque type hexagon thin nuts (with non-metallic insert) with threads of M3~M36, property classes of 04 and 05 and product grades of Grade A and Grade B. Grade A products are used for nuts with D less than or equal to 16mm; Grade B products are used for nuts with D greater than 16mm.

Note: The dimensions of the nuts correspond to those given in GB/T 6172.1 plus prevailing torque feature.
