Analysis of calcium content determination method
This standard provides two main determination methods: potassium permanganate method and disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid complexometric titration method.
Principle and steps of potassium permanganate method
- potassium permanganate standard solution is used to oxidize calcium oxalate, and the calcium content is determined by titration reaction.
- The sample is dissolved in nitric acid and hydrochloric acid solution after high temperature burning.
- Calcium ions are precipitated by ammonium oxalate and then titrated with potassium permanganate solution.
Principle and steps of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid complexometric titration method
- Calcium ions are complexed with disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, and the end point is determined by the color change of the indicator.
- Suitable for rapid determination, especially for samples with high calcium content.
- The pH value and the influence of interfering ions must be strictly controlled during the reagent preparation and titration process.
Implementation suggestions
In order to ensure the accuracy of the test results, it is recommended that:
- The laboratory should be equipped with instruments such as high-precision analytical balances and high-temperature furnaces.
- Operators must undergo professional training and be familiar with the technical details of the two methods.
- Regularly calibrate reagents and instruments to ensure data reliability.
- For complex samples (such as feed containing high organic matter), it is recommended to give priority to the ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid method.
