《GB/T 6723-2008通用冷弯开口型钢尺寸、外形、重量及允许偏差》由TC183（全国钢标准化技术委员会）归口，TC183SC8（全国钢标准化技术委员会型钢分会）执行，主管部门为中国钢铁工业协会。
本标准代替GB/T 6723-1986《通用冷弯开口型钢尺寸、外形、重量及允许偏差》。
本标准规定了通用冷弯开口型钢的分类、代号、截面尺寸及允许偏差、长度及允许偏差、外形、重量和标记示例。
本标准适用于用可冷加工变形的冷轧或热轧钢带在连续辊式冷弯机组上生产的通用冷弯开口型钢。
本标准与GB/T 6723-1986相比主要变化如下：
―――扩大了产品规格范围；
―――提高了外形尺寸公差精度；
―――弯曲部分测量“内圆弧半径”修改为“外圆弧半径”，便于操作。

This standard specifies classification, code, section dimensions and permissible tolerances, length and permissible tolerances, shape, weight and designation example of general cold forming open sectional steel.
This standard is applicable to general cold forming open sectional steel produced on continuous roller cold forming unit with cold rolled or hot rolled steel strip which is may be deformed through cold working, hereinafter referred to as "sectional steel".
