Scope

This part of GB/T 6730 stipulates the determination of silicon content in iron ore by gravimetric method. This section applies to natural iron ore, iron concentrate and artificial lump ore, including sintered products. The determination range (mass fraction) is 1.00%~15.00%. Method 1: This method is not applicable to iron ores with a reducing agent content greater than 2% (mass fraction), for example, pyrite or iron ores with a fluorine content exceeding 0.1% (mass fraction). This method is recommended for low-grade ores with high content of amphoteric elements. Method 2: This method can be used for iron ore with a fluorine content greater than 0.1% (mass fraction). This method is recommended for high-grade ores with low gangue.
