Introduction
Introduction and Background
GB/T 6730.2-2018 "Determination of moisture content of iron ore by gravimetric method" is an important part of the national standard of the People's Republic of China. It mainly stipulates the technical method for determining the moisture content of iron ore and its related products (such as iron ore concentrate, sinter and pellet) by gravimetric method. This standard replaces the old version GB/T 6730.2-1986 and makes technical improvements and supplements in many key aspects.
Comparison of Standard Frameworks
| Standard Contents | GB/T 6730.2-1986 | GB/T 6730.2-2018 |
|---|---|---|
| Scope of Application | Applicable only to iron ore and iron concentrate | Extended to include sinter and pellets |
| Principle of Method | Detailed steps are not specified | The “Principle” chapter is added, and it is clarified that the drying temperature is controlled at 105℃±2℃ |
| Instrument Requirements | Briefly mentions oven and balance | The technical parameters of electronic platform scales and drying ovens are specified in detail, and specific specifications of equipment such as sample trays and mixing plates are added |
Technical points and implementation suggestions
1. Sample processing and weighing: Ensure that the sample particle size does not exceed 20mm, and use the sampling method specified in GB/T 10322.1. Weigh to an accuracy of 0.5g, and record the initial mass m₁ and the two measured values m₂ and m₃ before and after drying.
2. Drying process: The initial drying time is 2 hours, and then weigh every 30 minutes until the difference between two consecutive weighings does not exceed 0.5g, and record the final mass m₃.
3. Result calculation: Calculate the moisture content according to the formula w = ((m₂ - m₃) / (m₂ - m₁)) × 100%. The result is rounded to two decimal places and verified against the allowable difference specified in Table 1.
