1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for painting color, font style, font color, coloured ring, colored tape and coloured mark for requalification of external surface of cylinders, which is one of the key marks of identifying filled gas in cylinder and periodical inspection age limit.

This standard is applicable to refillable cylinder meeting TSG R0006 as well as relevant cylinder standard.

This part is not applicable to non-refillable cylinder, fire extinguishing cylinder and cylinder pressure vessel affiliated on machinery equipment.

Note: relevant cylinder standard includes national standard, local standard or enterprise standard for cylinder product.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 13005 and the following apply.

coloured cylinder mark for gases
marks for identifying gases filled in cylinder which are painted on external surface of gas cylinder with items of paint film color, font style, font color and coloured ring according to relevant standards and aiming at different filling media

3.2
coloured ring
identification mark of cylinders filled with the same kind of gas in different nominal working pressures as well as different filling pressures or filling ratio

3.3
coloured chip
standard sample chip which shows certain color

3.4
coloured mark for requalification of cylinders
marks with corresponding color and shape, painted at acceptance stamp for the convenience of observing and learning about year for periodical inspection of gas cylinder

3.5
test mark ring
Rotatable metal ring with steel seal for inspecting cylinder information, installed between cylinder valve and valve seat

3.6
gas mixture
gas which contains two or more effective constituents or non-effective constituents with content exceeding the specified limit
