1. Background of standard formulation and analysis of technological evolution

GB/T 7160—2017 National Standard for Carbonyl Nickel Powder is an important specification for nickel powder products produced by the carbonyl process. This standard replaces the previous GB/T 7160—2008, and is mainly revised in terms of brand classification, chemical composition requirements, physical performance indicators and testing methods.

With the advancement of carbonyl process technology and changes in market demand, the new version of the standard has put forward higher requirements for product quality control. In particular, the new test requirements for sieved particle size have been added, and the test index for specific surface area has been cancelled, reflecting the trend of technological development.
