《GB/T 7596-2008电厂运行中汽轮机油质量》由524（中国电力企业联合会）归口，主管部门为中国电力企业联合会。
本标准代替GB/T 7596-2000《电厂用运行中汽轮机油质量标准》。
本标准规定了电厂运行中汽轮机（包括水轮机、调相机和燃气轮机）所用的矿物汽轮机油在运行中应达到的质量标准。
本标准适用于发电机组运行过程中汽轮机油（包括水轮机、调相机和燃气轮机用油）的质量监督。
本标准与GB/T 7596-2000的主要技术差异为：
―――对引用标准版本作了更新修订；
―――在技术要求中增加了运行中燃气轮机油的质量标准，去掉了原技术要求中对常规检验项目、周期及补油的规定，明确提出采用GB/T 14541规定；
―――对质量标准中关于设备容量规范作了修订；
―――对黏度、闪点、洁净度、破乳化度、起泡沫性试验、空气释放值等指标作了修订。

Scope

This standard specifies the quality standards that mineral turbine oil (hereinafter referred to as turbine oil) used in steam turbines (including hydraulic turbines, condensers and gas turbines) in power plants should meet during operation. This standard is applicable to the quality supervision of steam turbine oil (including hydraulic turbine, condenser and gas turbine oil) during the operation of generating units.
