Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

As the core specification in the field of EDM, this standard has undergone two major revisions since its first release in 1987. Compared with the 2005 version, the 2021 version mainly reflects the technical development of CNC reciprocating wire EDM machine tools in the following aspects:

  • Parameter range adjustment brought about by the improvement of machining accuracy requirements
  • Standardization requirements of new machine tool structure (double column)
  • Improvement in coordination with international standards
