Scope
This standard specifies the engineering method and simple method for measuring the sound pressure level and determining the sound power of noise on the imaginary rectangular hexahedron measuring surface of the enveloping diesel engine when the marine diesel engine (hereinafter referred to as the diesel engine) is operating under the specified steady-state conditions. This standard applies to the measurement of airborne noise radiated during diesel engine bench tests.
