《GB/T 997-2003旋转电机结构及安装型式（IM代号）》由TC26（全国旋转电机标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为中国电器工业协会。

Scope

This standard specifies the IM codes for the structure and installation types of rotating electrical machines. The two codes are specified as follows: Code 1 (see Chapter 2): The alphanumeric code applies to motors with end cap bearings and a shaft extension. Code 2 (see Chapter 3): The all-digit code is applicable to a wider range of motor types, including the motor types involved in Code 1. Motor types not listed in code 2 shall be fully described in words. See Appendix A for the relationship between Code 1 and Code 2.
