Introduction
Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution
The main technical upgrades of the GY 64-2010 standard replacing the 1989 version are: refined surface treatment process, systematization of coating technical parameters, and standardization of inspection methods. The new standard adds 3 normative appendices and deletes the outdated classification of coating thickness use conditions, which is more in line with the requirements of modern anti-corrosion engineering technology.
Comparison of key process technology requirements
| Process type | Core parameters | 1989 version requirements | 2010 version requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thermal spraying zinc aluminum | Minimum thickness | Unspecified | ≥120μm |
| Hot dip galvanizing | Adhesion amount | Graded by component thickness | 610g/m² when t≥5mm |
| Paint sealing | Construction interval | Not specified | Within 4 hours after sandblasting |
Surface treatment technical specifications
The standard clearly stipulates two treatment methods: Sandblasting rust removal (Sa2½ grade) and Acid pickling rust removal (Be grade). Roughness requirements after sandblasting:
- Thermal spraying process: 40-80μm
- Paint coating: <50μm
Actual application case:After sandblasting rust removal on a 328m TV tower, the measured surface roughness was 62μm, which fully met the requirements of thermal spraying aluminum coating.
Key points for coating implementation
1. Thermal spraying zinc-aluminum process
Zn99.99 or Al99.5 grade materials must be used, the ambient temperature must be 3°C higher than the dew point, and the sealing process must be completed within 6 hours after spraying.
2. Hot-dip galvanizing control
It is prohibited to galvanize closed inner cavity components, and the plating leakage area exceeds 0.5% and needs to be re-plated. The thickness of the repair layer should be more than 30μm thicker than the standard value.
3. Coating matching scheme
The standard appendix provides 7 matching schemes, such as: a three-layer system of epoxy iron red primer + epoxy micaceous iron intermediate paint + polyurethane topcoat.
Quality Inspection Standards
| Test Items | Method Standard | Sampling Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Coating Thickness | GB/T 4956 Magnetic Method | 10% Components |
| Bonding Strength | Appendix A Pull-Apart Method | 1% Components |
| Galvanizing Uniformity | Appendix B Copper Sulfate Method | 4 Times Without Exposing Iron |
Project Implementation Suggestions
- Material control: Zinc ingots must meet the Zn99.95 requirements of GB/T 470, and aluminum alloys are preferably Al-Mg5 series
- Process monitoring: Establish a closed-loop quality control process of sandblasting/pickling → painting → inspection
- Safety protection: The painting site must be equipped with explosion-proof ventilation equipment, and operators must wear professional protective equipment
- Acceptance focus: Focus on the coating integrity of easily corroded areas such as edges, welds, etc.
