Standard Background and Industry Significance

With the rapid development of Internet TV services, GY/T 334-2020, as a special standard issued by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, fills the gap in the specification of DRM system integration in the OTT field. This standard forms a technical system with GY/T 277-2019, and proposes feasible implementation plans for core links such as content encryption and key management.

1. Content Encryption Mechanism

  • Dual-path encryption: Support encryption by the operation system or content provider
  • Audit closed loop: Encrypted content must be decrypted and verified by the audit system

2. Client Security Integration

Taking a certain brand of smart TV as an example, its DRM client integration must meet the following requirements:

  1. Pre-set client certificate in hardware-level TEE environment
  2. Implement the 11 core interfaces defined in Appendix C of the standard
  3. Support online certificate update (OCSP) mechanism
