Scope

This standard specifies the detailed requirements for the packaging and interface of integrated modular avionics systems (IMA) for civil aircraft, including: the definition, guidance and qualification of the mechanical, electrical and environmental interfaces of field-replaceable modules and chassis; design and acceptance Definition, guidance, and qualification of the mechanical, electrical, and environmental interfaces of the chassis to the aircraft. This standard does not specify requirements for the chassis component enclosure, fasteners (such as location and size) for mounting the chassis component to the aircraft, the location and size of the chassis component to the interface connector mounted to the aircraft, aircraft wiring, etc. This standard applies to comprehensive modular avionics hardware for civil aircraft. It does not replace GJB441 and HB7390.
