Details of key technical requirements

4.1 Structural specifications

Steel drums must be made of whole steel plates, and the barrel body welding is limited to the use of resistance welding technology. Structural requirements:

  • Two external convex ring ribs or 5-7 corrugations for reinforcement
  • 19±1mm reinforcement rings are set on the top/bottom of the barrel
  • The distance between the spiral injection port and the air vent is 1415±4mm

4.2 Performance indicators

Typical application case: A chemical plant used steel barrels of this standard to contain CFC-11. After a 1.8m drop test, there was no leakage in the barrel and the deformation of the ring ribs was <3%, which fully met the safe transportation requirements for ozone-depleting substances.

Quality control system

Establish a three-level unqualified classification mechanism according to GB 2828:

  1. Class A defects: directly affect the sealing (such as weld quality)
  2. Class B defects: dimensional deviation (ring rib height deviation> 2mm)
  3. Class C defects: appearance defects (coating sagging)

Inspection process optimization

Suggestions for manufacturers:

  • The first piece of each shift must be inspected for air tightness (50kPa)
  • Sampling 3 pieces per month for 80kPa enhanced inspection
  • Use a magnetic thickness gauge to monitor coating quality
