Scope

Important note: The strong acids and bases used in this standard are corrosive and should be used with caution. If splashed on body, rinse with plenty of water. This standard specifies the method for the determination of nitrate in industrial circulating cooling water using sulfosalicylic acid spectrophotometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of water samples with nitrate content in industrial circulating cooling water ranging from 0.1 mg/L to 10.0 mg/L.
