Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the extraction of plasticizers from plastics under liquid medium conditions. This standard is suitable for the quantitative determination of the amount of plasticizer extracted from plasticized plastics under liquid medium conditions. When this standard is used to compare different plasticizers, compounds should be prepared using well-defined resins and known proportions of plasticizers. This standard does not apply to porous plastic materials.
