Scope

This standard specifies the sodium diethyldithiocarbamate spectrophotometric method for the determination of soluble copper and total copper in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of total copper and soluble copper in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage and industrial wastewater. When a 20mm cuvette is used and the sample volume for extraction is 50ml, the detection limit of the method is 0.010mg/L and the lower limit of determination is 0.040mg/L. When a 10mm cuvette is used and the sample volume for extraction is 10ml , the upper limit of determination of the method is 6.00mg/L.
