Key technical specifications

Standard configuration of Malay net

The standard stipulates two types of nets: Type I (length 165cm × width 116cm) and Type II (length 165cm × width 180cm). The net cloth is divided into black and white color areas, and the collection bottle needs to be replaced with anhydrous ethanol every 10-15 days.

Key points for implementing the nest-tube method

The inner diameter of the nest tube is 7-12mm, and the length is 12-20cm. It needs to be placed in groups (100 tubes/nest box), preferably facing southeast or southwest, and less than 2m from the ground.


Data quality assurance system

  • Three-level audit system: field record → electronic entry → expert review
  • Dual backup mechanism: update CD/hard disk backup every six months
  • Standardized training: including bee taxonomy, GPS use and emergency response

Implementation suggestions

  1. Prioritize centralized observations from June to August to avoid extreme high temperatures
  2. Establish a reference specimen library to solve species identification problems
  3. Implement non-destructive sampling in accordance with HJ 628 specifications
