Scope

This standard specifies the thick source method for the determination of total b radioactivity in water. This standard applies to the determination of total b radioactivity in surface water, groundwater, industrial wastewater and domestic sewage. The lower detection limit of the method depends on the total mass of residues contained in the sample, the detection efficiency of the measuring instrument, the background count rate, measurement time, etc. Under typical conditions, the lower detection limit can reach 1.5×10−2 Bq/L. 2
