Scope

This standard specifies the purge and trap vapor gas chromatography-cold atomic fluorescence spectrometry method for the determination of alkyl mercury in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of alkylmercury (methylmercury, ethylmercury) in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage, industrial wastewater and seawater. When the sampling volume is 45 mL, the method detection limits of methylmercury and ethylmercury are both 0.02 ng/L, and the lower determination limits are both 0.08 ng/L.
