Technical background of the standard
This standard is formulated for industrial by-products produced by the limestone/lime-gypsum wet flue gas desulfurization process. For the first time, it systematically regulates the chemical analysis method of flue gas desulfurization gypsum with dihydrate calcium sulfate (CaSO4·2H2O) as the main component. With the improvement of environmental protection requirements, the 2018 version has added new pollutant detection items such as total organic carbon and ammonia nitrogen.

- The reaction temperature should be controlled within the range of 50-70℃
- The amount of hydrogen peroxide added should be accurate to 5 drops (about 0.25mL)
- Repeatability limit 0.20%, reproducibility limit 0.30%

Use pre-distillation-Nessler reagent spectrophotometry combined technology:
Actual case: In the detection of desulfurization gypsum in a power plant, it was found that when the sample contained 0.5mg/kg ammonia, strict control was required:
