Key technical requirements

Special provisions for test samples

The standard clearly defines prototype lithium batteries and low-production lithium batteries: batteries with annual production ≤100 and that have not passed the UN38.3 test. The number of test samples is configured according to the battery type:

  • Non-rechargeable battery cells: 20 (15 fully charged + 5 discharged)
  • Rechargeable battery cells: 18 (8 fully charged + 10 discharged)

Key points of packaging test

Note when using PI910 packaging instructions:

  1. Drop test must include 6 directions (bottom, top, 4 sides)
  2. Target surface requirements: cement/steel plate, size ≥ projected area of package
  3. Exemption conditions: The battery is installed in the equipment and not transported separately

Standard evolution analysis

Compared with MH/T 1052 conventional lithium battery testing, this specification targets the characteristics of products in the R&D stage:

  • Cancel the charge and discharge cycle pretreatment requirement
  • Add Forced discharge test (T.8)
  • Refine the content requirements of the packaging test report
