Introduction

Standard Framework and Technology Evolution

As the first safety specification specifically for aircraft rain enhancement operations in my country's civil aviation field, MH/T 1075-2020 fills the gap in the standard of artificial weather modification aviation operations. Based on the GB/T 1.1-2009 standardization work guidelines, this standard integrates the QX/T 151 terminology standard and the GB/T 33679 storage specification requirements to form a technical system covering the entire life cycle of the operation.

Analysis of core requirements

Element category MH/T 1075 requirements International comparison (ICAO)
Operation aircraft Three certificates are required + supplementary airworthiness certification FAA requires STC certification
Catalyst equipment Acceptance by meteorological department + regular inspection Requires NWS filing
Personnel qualifications Pilot 500h + 50h aircraft model experience WMO recommends 300h

Critical Control Points

Flight Altitude Control

Article 7.6 of the standard clearly stipulates that oxygen supply equipment must be used when non-pressurized aircraft operate continuously at an altitude of 3000-4000m for more than 30 minutes, or when exceeding 4000m. This requirement is based on data from plateau physiology research and is stricter than FAR 91.211.

Material Management Case

During an operation in North China in 2021, the electrostatic ignition accident of silver iodide flame strips was successfully avoided due to the strict implementation of Article 4.5.3 "power off and oil off when loading materials".

Implementation suggestions

  1. Equipment selection: Prefer twin-engine models such as Y12Ⅳ listed in Appendix A, whose 7,000m ceiling meets most operational needs
  2. Staff training: It is recommended to conduct special assessments on QX/T 151 terminology standards every quarter
  3. Data recording: The macroscopic recording table should include data related to catalyst spreading rate and cloud temperature
