Magnetic Particle Inspection Standard Aids

Scope

This standard specifies the minimum requirements for detecting surface and near-surface discontinuities of ferromagnetic materials and components used in civil aircraft using magnetic particle inspection. This standard is applicable to the use of magnetic particle inspection methods to inspect ferromagnetic materials and finished products used in civil aircraft, including raw materials, blanks, finished products and semi-finished products, welded parts and in-service parts for surface and near-surface cracks, folds, hairlines, inclusions and other Discontinuity, not suitable for testing non-ferromagnetic materials.
