Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

MH/T 6049-2020, as a mandatory standard for the civil aviation industry, replaces the 2008 version of the specification and mainly aims to upgrade the power transmission safety of airport runway navigation lighting systems. With the average annual growth of civil aviation transport volume of 8.3%, the power density of lamps has increased by 42%. The new version of the standard focuses on strengthening:

1. Conductor and shielding structure

The conductor is made of tinned copper conductor with a cross-section of 6mm², which meets the GB/T 3956 Type 2 (round) or Type 5 (soft conductor) specifications. The key innovations include:

  • Double-layer shielding system: conductor shield thickness ≥0.15mm, insulation shield ≥0.30mm
  • Metal shielding layer: copper tape thickness ≥0.07mm, overlapping rate ≥15%

Typical Application Cases

A 4F-level airport uses DYJY-5kV 1×6mm² cable. Note the following during construction:

  1. Bending radius ≥12 times the outer diameter (actually measured 15.9mm needs to be kept above 190mm)
  2. When the burial depth is ≥0.8m, HDPE protective pipe needs to be installed.
  3. Triple waterproof treatment is used at the joints.

Key points of the test method

The type test includes 7 categories and 32 tests, among which the key items are:

  • 4h withstand voltage test: no breakdown under 20kV power frequency voltage
  • Hot extension test: TRXLPE permanent deformation ≤5%
  • Shield peeling force: within the range of 4-45N and no residue
