Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the color of petroleum products using the tris imulus value method. The instruments in this standard automatically convert the measurement results into the corresponding GB/T 3555 and GB/T 6540 chromaticity numbers according to the corresponding calculation rules. This standard applies to petroleum products such as automotive gasoline, aviation gasoline, jet fuel, naphtha, kerosene, white oil, diesel, heating fuel oil, lubricating oil, etc. without colorants. This standard does not apply to solid samples and petroleum products containing dyes or strong fluorescence. This standard corresponds to the entire color range of GB/T 6540 and corresponds to the GB/T 3555 Saybolt color range from 0 to +30.
