Scope

This standard is suitable for monitoring phosphate (ester) anti-wear agents in petroleum products and hydrocarbon-based lubricants in use, such as different types of engine oils, hydraulic oils and other anti-wear lubricants. Traditional phosphate antiwear additives include zinc dialkyl dithiophosphates, trialkyl phosphates and phosphate esters. This standard uses FT-IR spectroscopy to monitor the depletion of phosphate anti-wear additives in petroleum products and hydrocarbon-based lubricants in use during normal mechanical operation. Monitoring the depletion of phosphate additives in in-service lubricants can indicate abnormal equipment wear and harsh operating conditions. This standard is a quick and easy method for monitoring phosphate anti-wear agents in petroleum products and hydrocarbon-based lubricants. It can diagnose the operating status of equipment by monitoring the level of phosphate anti-wear agents in oil products. the goal of. Standard Practice NB/SH/T 0911 describes methods for obtaining infrared spectral data for monitoring phosphate antiwear agents in in-service oils and lubricants. This standard provides direct trend analysis method and difference spectrum (spectral difference subtraction) trend analysis method for phosphate (ester) antiwear agent monitoring data. This standard is used to monitor the spectral change trend of phosphate (ester) antiwear agents in petroleum products and hydrocarbon-based lubricants in use. Warning or alarm limits can be set based on a fixed minimum value for a single measurement or the rate of change of the measurement response value. For direct trend analysis the values recorded in the absorption spectra are used for analysis and the values are reported in absorbance/0.100 mm. For the difference spectrum trend analysis the value obtained by the difference spectrum is used for analysis (the difference spectrum is obtained by subtracting the spectrum of the reference oil from the spectrum of the oil in use). The unit of the numerical report is 100×absorbance/0.100 mm (equivalent to at absorbance/1.00 cm). In either case, equipment maintenance limits must be determined based on statis ical analysis his ory of the same or similar equipment, cycle testing, or a combination of other methods related to changes in phosphate antiwear agent levels and the mechanical condition of the equipment. This standard applies to mineral-based and hydrocarbon-based lubricants. It does not apply to ester-based lubricants, including polyol esters or phosphate esters. This standard uses the International System of Units (SI) units. Example: The unit of wave number is cm.
