Scope

This standard specifies an automated method for titration and optical detection of asphaltene flocculation for the determination of stability and compatibility parameters of residual oil materials, residual fuel oil and crude oil from petroleum refining. This standard applies to residual oil from atmospheric and vacuum dis illation, thermal processing, catalytic and hydrocracking processes, such as F-R1, F-R2, F-R3 and F-R4 in the product classification of GB 25989-2010 Grade samples, petroleum fuel samples containing heavy components in petroleum refining in the product classification of GB/T 29114-2012, and crude oil. This standard is not applicable to samples with asphaltene mass fraction less than 0.05%, and the titration endpoint cannot be obtained for unstable samples where asphaltene flocculation has occurred.
